Troubleshooting your Dell XPS M1330 with Vista Business.
Problem: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) after Windows Update!

Symptoms:
Normally, when you start installing fresh Windows Vista using Bootable CD provided by Dell, you start customize your own programs and installing updates especially towards you AV, AS and Windows. So, Windows Update take place when you need to update your Windows which now currently Vista SP1.

Unlike others, I spend my time using WU to update my Windows from start before applying SP1. So, spend around 2 or 3 hours just to update and restarting. Unfortunately, it end up with a BSOD. Damn!!!

Do worry, after testing for one week, installing, downloading and patching, I finally come out with one solution which is obvious I miss it.

Solutions:
After fresh install Windows Vista, install all your driver especially your Intel Chipset Mobile (From Dell) and Intel Matrix Storage Controller (From Intel). Please follow the download recommended here especially the Intel Matrix Storage. Do download it from Intel (v8.8.0). Then, use WU to update your windows and slowly update 3-5 file updates per time. Don’t update them all of them in one shots. It save you time and effort if its fail and come out BSOD. And then, you know which update file give you the BSOD. I try it and it work well. Always remember, keep backup all your important files.
